CHRISTIAN AID In this 70th anniversary year of Christian Aid, we thank you for your support over the years. However, Christian Aid Week is as vital today as it's always been. Therefore, we need to call on your support once again.  Please take time to read the leaflet enclosed with today’s order of service. We earnestly hope you will be moved to sign up as a collector or support the café in whatever way you are able. Please help us by having a look at the notice board and add your name to any of the lists over the next few weeks. If you need more information, please speak to your Christian Aid representatives: Iris, Sandra or Wilma in St John’s, Rhona, Sheila and Sheena in Kirkton

As you know, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), of which Christian Aid is a member, has already launched a public appeal to provide emergency aid to the millions of people affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal. The DEC member agencies and partners are working urgently to provide shelters, food, clean water and blankets to affected areas. The group will then work with families and communities to support people as they try to rebuild their lives.
This work will undoubtedly continue for months and years to come. Christian Aid Week is part of the Carluke churches' response to such a tragedy and gives an opportunity to put love into action for our brothers and sisters affected by this terrible disaster. Please support CA week in whatever way you can. What we need most are volunteer collectors to come forward and offer an hour or two to help with the door-to-door collection. Please help us to help them.
