Thank you all for your support particularly in this time of growing demand. The items that are most needed this week are cooking oil, tomato ketchup, toilet rolls, salt, tinned potatoes, diluting juice.

We would also be very grateful if you would write to your elected representatives (MPs and MSPs) asking them to keep the issue of food poverty at the top of their agendas. New claimants for benefits are going onto Universal Credit and have a six week wait to receive any money and this has fuelled a 40% rise in demand for our services in the first 3 months of 2017 when compared to 2016. In October all existing claimants will also move to Universal Credit and we anticipate that this will cause great hardship to many people unless measures are put in place now to speed up the process.

Standing order and gift aid forms are available in the church vestibule. Please free to visit any weekday morning from 10.-12noon at 66 High Street, next door to Boots.
