CLYDESDALE FOOD BANK NEWS

posted 9 Sep 2016, 03:22 by clydesdale foodbank

Thank you to all who support us. We thought you might be encouraged by this story. Recently a young woman delivered a box of food to the food bank. She explained that, some time before, she had been ill and had lost her job, her partner had left her and she was “in a very dark place”. At a point where she didn’t even have a bar of soap in the house, there was a knock at the door and one of our volunteers delivered, not only food, but also personal hygiene items and cleaning materials. She thanked the volunteer, went back into the house and burst into tears. She promised herself that, when she was back on her feet, she would make a donation to the food bank. She now has a new job and has kept her promise.

This week we particularly need: tins of beans, peas, spaghetti, potatoes, cold meat, fruit, also diluting juice, gents’ deodorant, shower gel and razors.

Standing order and gift aid forms are available in the church vestibule. Please feel free to visit any day Monday to Friday between 10am and noon. Our address is 66 High Street (next door to Boots). www.clydesdalefoodbank.btck.co.uk
