CLYDESDALE FOOD BANK NEWS

posted 18 Dec 2015, 03:43 by clydesdale foodbank
We have a lot to be thankful for this week. Our raffle was a great success raising a large amount of money which will help buy fresh foods for many Clydesdale people who are struggling. Most prizes - 58 - came from local businesses and we are grateful for their support. A huge thank you to three of our volunteers in particular, James, Jean and Anne who covered a lot of ground collecting, storing and selling.
Liz P collected £120 from two delightful 6 year olds who attend Robert Owen Primary in Lanark. Instead of birthday presents, Matthew Parker and Jonny Smith asked for a small donation for the food bank. How kind!!
In the coming week 4 nurseries are donating to us - Walston, Rigside, Abington and St. Mary's.
All this is so helpful. Our referrals this year will have increased by 10%, reaching around 600.
The Tesco trolleys are well used and thank you to everyone who puts in items. Also thank you to the people who drop into the unit with a bag of food. We always have a list of items we need on the door.
This week we need: tinned cold meat, potatoes, tomatoes and any tinned (not dried) pasta.

Standing order and gift aid forms are available in the church vestibule.
Please feel free to visit any day Monday to Friday between 10am and noon. Our address is 66 High Street (next door to Boots). www.clydesdalefoodbank.btck.co.uk
