The next meeting of Lanark& District U3A is on Wednesday 21st October at 2.00pm in Lanark Memorial Hall. The speaker will be Ken Fawell, Chairman of the Clydesdale Mills Society and the owner of Carmichael Mill near Hyndford Bridge. The Society was formed in 2007 and since then has been involved in the research and some excavation of naturally powered historic mills in the whole of South Lanarkshire. Ken’s presentation will give a tour mainly of mills in or near the River Clyde.

       The U3A is an organisation for retired or semi-retired people. New members are always welcome. If you are interested in finding out more you can visit the website or come along to one of our monthly meetings, without any obligation to join. As well as a monthly meeting there are more than 20 interest groups run by members.
