The U3A is an organisation, which is not determined by age but rather is for anyone who is now retired or semi-retired. Lanark & District U3A has 150 members, 45% of whom live in Carluke. With over 20 interest groups, led by members, there is something for everyone. Some groups are for pure leisure & enjoyment whereas others enable some type of learning.  New members are always welcome & if you have not heard about the U3a, why not give it a try by coming along to the first meeting of the session. You will be under no obligation to pay the very reasonable, annual £15.00 enrolment fee until you decide if you wish to join.  Find out more by visiting our new website, as detailed above.

First meeting of Session The next General Meeting of Lanark & District U3A will be on Wednesday, 21st September, at 2.00pm in Lanark Memorial Hall when the speaker will be Kym Fletcher, proprietor of the Wallace Tea-rooms in Lanark.  Kym will speak about the journey that took her to opening her award winning tea-rooms and how she specialises in baking a large range of delicious & unusual cakes & tray bakes.
