The next meeting of Lanark & District U3A is on Wednesday, 19th October at 2.00pm in Lanark Memorial Hall. The speaker, Robert Wilson, will give a talk on Carluke’s 3 VCs. For a small town like Carluke to have produced 3 winners of The Victoria Cross is surely very special.

If you are semi-retired or retired, the U3A has much to offer. As well as a monthly meeting with a speaker there are more than 20 interest groups run by members. New members are always welcome and you can come along to a meeting to find out more with no obligation to join. Groups include a lunch group, theatre group, outings group, humour group, pub discussion group, book groups, badminton, cycling, poetry and art appreciation groups and many more (something for everyone).
